A short comment: Dr. Leibowitz "resolves" the issue only for those  
who start with the assumption the text is sacred, but then have  
problems with scientific analysis as applied to the sacred text. I  
would say for far more people, the assumption is that scientific  
analysis is appropriate everywhere. Their "problem" is what does it  
mean for a text to be sacred and shoulod one at all care? Greenberg  
and Rosensweig are more relevant in answering  that.
